Anger is part of our emotions but when it takes you over and causes outburts and prevents sleep then its problematic.  Anger is rooted in fear, frustration or hurt.  Yes, it can be all of those at once but it is up to you to process those feelings.  

You want to be cautious in using YOU statements and focus on I statements.  Allow yourself to communicate but don't carry expectations.  You have the power to distance from what no longer serves you.  Yes, it is a learned process and takes time.  Allow yourself that process and reprogram.
