There are 4 main attachment styles. The goal is to settle in secure attachment where you are balanced and confident. There are three other types of attachments that create codependency, negativity, avoidance and other traits that contribute to unhealthy realtionships.
You are not destined to stay in a negative style unless you choose to stay there. You style may wander through all of them except secure. Typically when you get to that space you are consistent with the tools you need to have the balance.
